PLP Lesna industrija d.o.o. is a production company engaged in wood-processing. It has been operating as an individual company since 1991.
It emerged from the former wood plant of the Velenje Lignite Mine to provide Velenje Coal Mine with all the necessary wood products. The company generates the rest of its income in other markets both at home and abroad. The need for suitable underground wood, an indispensable and irreplaceable material in the pits of the Velenje Coal Mine, has provided the company with all necessary experience and tradition through 137 years of wood-processing.
The company is engaged in labour-intensive activities and operates 100% in primary wood processing and the production of underground wood panelling, lumber, construction wood, sleepers and biomass. Besides the Slovenian market, the company does business in certain EU markets and in the markets of the former Yugoslavia.
Quality assurance is one of the main concerns of the company. The company has been awarded the ISO9001 certificate and puts great emphasis on implementation of integrated policy. It is especially aware that customers are crucial for its existence and further development and this is why the company is constantly improving product quality and closely following customer demand.
The company strives to become one of the leading wood-processing companies in Slovenia and also attract interest to international partnerships.
